Major Works Fund Contributions
The Major Works Fund is where Leaseholders pay a set amount each year and interest is added by Eastbourne Borough Council to their investment, in order for them to have funds in hand towards cyclical painting costs.
All Leaseholders are strongly advised to join the Eastbourne Borough Council Major Works Fund; however, Leaseholders not paying into the major Works Fund will be charged their full contribution towards the painting costs every five years on their Service Charge bill.

The Major Works Fund balance is usually included as an asset to the new purchaser if you sell your property.
Residual Painting Costs
If there are insufficient funds in your Painting Fund Contribution Account to pay your painting and pre-painting repair costs, the balance will show as residual painting costs.
