Eastbourne Borough Council follows a Government formula to calculate your rent each year.
This formula is based on the value of your home and the average earnings for the East Sussex area. This formula is used by all other Councils and Housing Associations to make sure that all customers within the social rented sector pay similar rents, for similar homes in similar areas. The Government call this policy 'Rent Convergence'.
We work in partnership with the Council to calculate your rent but the final decision is made by the Council. Each year before a final decision is made we welcome your views on whether you think that you pay a fair rent for the services you receive.
