Benefits
The Council is responsible for two types of benefit:
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit (including Second Adult Rebate)
Our in-house Welfare Benefits Officer is also trained and experienced in assessing benefit need.
The Department of Work and Pensions or your local Jobcentre deal with applications for Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance.

The rules surrounding benefits are quite complicated so it is always advisable to contact us if you are in doubt over any aspect of your application or the benefits service in general.
