Allen Filer has been elected the new Chair of the Residents’ Forum. Allen is a very familiar face at countless community events and fundraisers and has had a long association with the housing sector in Eastbourne.
The Forum is made up from representatives of the four Area Panels, the Leaseholder Panel and Retirement Housing Panel in Eastbourne, and sits at the top of the resident involvement structure.
Previously, Allen worked within a Housing Association for 26 years and brings a wealth of experience of the issues tenants and leaseholders face.
Director of Housing Services, Bob Granville said:
“Allen really is the perfect choice to head up the Forum. His credentials couldn’t be any better and I’m delighted that the group has such a well qualified local resident leading on all the key debates.”
In addition to his new responsibilities, Allen will also continue in his role with the Old Town Area Panel.
Allen said:
“I thoroughly enjoy working with local people in Old Town through my involvement with the Area Panel, and am now looking forward to doing all I can to help make further improvements to the services all residents receive as customers of Eastbourne Homes.”
