Audit Commission Invite Your Views

Eastbourne Homes Ltd is currently being inspected by the government’s watchdogs, the Audit Commission.  Some of you may already have seen people looking around communal areas, garage blocks or alleyways on housing estates within Eastbourne.

In order to get over £45 million to improve the quality of council housing in Eastbourne then Eastbourne Homes must be judged as either good or excellent (2 or 3 stars respectively).

Last year, before Eastbourne Homes Ltd started, the Council’s Housing Services were inspected and were judged fair (1 star).

Eastbourne Homes, Chief Executive, Jan Canny said ‘we want to be a 3 star organisation, able to compare with the best.  We know that in order to do this we have to listen to our customers and make sure their views are fully taken into account when we design services and improvements.  We have all been working hard to achieve this and to improve services to customers and we hope that both our customers and the Audit Commission have started to notice the difference after seven months in operation.’

The Inspectors are holding a Drop-In session to talk to Eastbourne Homes residents on Thursday December 1st at the Town Hall (Court Room) from 5pm to 7pm and would be very pleased to see anyone who wants to attend.
