We feel it is very important to consult with those who experience disability or care for those who do on a day to day basis to ensure we are delivering our services according to our customers needs.
Therefore, we have set up a Disability Panel for our disabled customers and carers to have their say on how we set our budgets and deliver our services; for instance, our disabled adaptations service.
The role of the panel is to work with us to ensure that issues of disability are addressed and monitored and we are meeting our legal requirements under the Disability Discrimination Acts 1995 and 2005. Currently the group meets quarterly.
All meetings are held in accessible venues and hearing loops, signers, interpreters, transport and childcare are available upon request.
