On Saturday 21st October, Old Town Area Panel teamed up with Eastbourne Homes and Eastbourne Borough Council to provide a free rubbish collection day. This was after consultation with customers in Old Town, which showed their main cause for concern was rubbish littering the area. There was two pre-arranged dumping sites and Eastbourne Homes Officers collected rubbish from customers who were unable to get to the dump sites themselves.
A total of 28 tons of rubbish was collected plus over 60 fridges and freezers were disposed of, resulting in a cleaner community for all! This was the first project Old Town Panel has carried out and they would appreciate any comments or suggestions for future projects.
