Area Panels

Row of Red Conference Chairs.
Eastbourne Homes has set up Area Panels in each of its four main areas:

  • Old Town
  • Langney
  • Hampden Park/Willingdon Trees
  • Central/Archery

What is an Area Panel?

Area Panels play an important role in shaping and developing the community.  Area Panels are empowered to make decision which affect the community and is made up of a group of local people tenants and leaseholders who aim to improve the services Eastbourne Homes provide and the area you live in.  Eastbourne Homes staff provide support to the panel.

The Panels were set up using Section 16 Funding to increase local accountability and control to residents.  Each panel has its own budget delegated to them through the Eastbourne Homes Environmental Improvements budget to implement local initiatives and encourage community involvement.

How do I join the Area Panel in my area?

By selecting your Area Panel from the left hand menu you will be able to find out more information about your specific Area Panel and who to contact etc.  However, all residents are automatically a member of their local Area Panel and as such as invited to join in whenever they want.

I would like to be involved in the Panel, but how much time would I need to give?

As an Area Panel member you can be involved as much or as little as you want to be.  Some of the things you will be invited to do are:

  • Attend panel meetings;
  • Attend panel surgery 'drop-ins';
  • Share your views about local issues;
  • Comment on reports and information provided by Eastbourne Homes;
  • Help identify the improvement local people want in your area;
  • Work with other panel members to make a difference;
  • Attend training courses;
  • Work with external agencies.
