What is an Equality Impact Assessment? (EIA)
Whether developing new functions (policies/activities etc) or reviewing existing ones, Eastbourne Homes must ensure that as part of the process we undertake an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA).
EIAs are similar in nature to a health and safety check and are used to assess areas of our services and plans for improvements by making sure we think carefully about the likely impact of our work on equality target groups and improve our functions by identifying any unmet needs which lead to discrimination. They are a legal requirement under race, gender and disability legislation.
