As an organisation we should be able to demonstrate that we are meeting current legislative requirements and being proactive in delivering against our responsibilities.
There is a vast array of legislation which places duties and responsibilities onto public sector providers and gives rights for groups who commonly experience disadvantage and discrimination on the grounds of:
- race
- disability
- age
- sexual orientation
- religion
- gender
Legislation also covers employment, working conditions, training, access to goods and services, Human Rights and establishing a common set of rights and obligations to tackle unfair discrimination.
