The Mayor of Eastbourne, Cllr Carolyn Heaps, officially opened the refurbished Old Town Community Centre. The centre is the focus for a wide range of groups and activities in Old Town, including the Old Town Area Panel.
The work to rejuvenate the building has included new mother and baby toilets, a better disabled toilet, a new kitchen and curtains and freshly painted walls throughout.
A large number of groups deserve great credit for the transformation, including The Old Town Hall Assocation, local ward councillors, Sussex Downs Collage, Mears and Eastbourne Homes – the project was delivered by United House and overseen by Old Town Area Panel.
Chair of the Old Town Area Panel, Donna Hood, said:
“The project is a real demonstration of the community coming together to achieve a common goal. We look forward to doing more with our partners through the local neighbourhood management partnership and continuing our work to create a real sense of local unity.”
