Accommodate

Accommodate is an online service that allows landlords and letting agents to advertise their vacancies for free and makes searching for a home easier for prospective tenants.

Prospective tenants wanting to rent can enter search criteria depending on the location, number of rooms and maximum rent they are looking for. Additional search options can identify properties with more specific requirements, including parking, a garden, pets allowed, suitable for children, and if housing benefit is accepted. Landlords and letting agents who want to use the system will first need to register. This is because the site offers free advertising and so we need to ensure that only genuine landlords use the system.

In registering the landlord will need to supply a name and contact telephone number, which prospective tenants can use. If the property is let through an agent, the name and telephone number of the agent will need to be supplied. The landlord will need to provide an email address in order to be sent a password, but can choose whether or not this will be available to prospective tenants.

Once registered, landlords/agents can use their password to log in and create or edit their property portfolio. Options include editing personal details, changing password, adding new properties, editing and deleting properties.  The system allows the landlord to keep their properties listed and switch adverts on and off. Landlord details are only used in relation to this service. Details will not be passed on.
